A Fall Milestone For All Ages

Another fall is approaching. It is time for students to return to the classroom and for other fall schedules to resume. Bethany will be having a Blessing of the Backpacks Milestone celebration on Sunday, September 12, 2010. We are asking that all students and teachers come with backpacks or another kind of student bag. The Blessing of the Backpacks will include students, parents and other caregivers to be present for recognition and for prayers. Every parent wants his or her child to have all the advantages possible for a good education. This year, that includes a blessing.

Not only do we want to acknowledge, support and pray for our students, we also want to acknowledge, support and pray for all efforts to learn, grow and gain divine wisdom. Therefore, we are asking all people to bring something that they use on a regular basis for a blessing. Perhaps it is a briefcase, computer bag, tool belt, kitchen apron, gardening tools, calculator or work gloves. Whatever it is, bring it to worship on September 12 for a blessing for everyone else who learns, grows and gains divine wisdom. Please bring a nonperishable item for the food pantry.
